The Trend of Artificial Intelligence

Today, we stand on the brink of creating a new species on this planet—one that runs on silicon and evolves at a pace exponentially faster than any natural species. This rapid evolution is evident from the 1000x increase in AI compute over the past eight years, as shown in the left image, and the corresponding rise in model capabilities, illustrated in the right image.

Five years ago, before the advent of GPT-3, experts estimated that achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) was 80 years away. Today, the median predictionhas shifted to 2030. This shift highlights the difficulty of predicting outcomes in the faceof AI's exponential acceleration.

Leading figures in AI, including Sam Altman, Demis Hassabis, Jensen Huang, DarioAmodei, and Elon Musk, now predict that humanity will reach AGI by 2030, or perhaps even sooner. This consensus underscores the rapidly approaching reality of AGI and the transformative impact it will have on our world.

Artificial intelligence and AI agents will transform daily life and business operations in the coming decades, becoming as indispensable as electricity is today.

Goldman Sachs Research suggests that advancements in generative artificial intelligence, especially in natural language processing, have the potential to bringprofound changes to the global economy. As these AI tools integrate into businesses and society, they could lead to a significant 7% increase in global GDP, translatingtoalmost $7 trillion, and enhance productivity growth by 1.5 percentage points over a10-year period. The impact of AI on the economy is underscored by the projectedgrowth of the global AI market. Valued at USD 136.55 billion in 2022, this market is anticipated to reach USD 407 billion by 2027, representing a substantial increase. Looking even further ahead, the AI market is expected to skyrocket to approximatelyUSD 2,575.16 billion by 2032, with a robust compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of of 19% from 2023 to 2032. These figures highlight the transformative potential of AI technologies in reshaping economic landscapes and driving future growth.
